Monokel Eyewear build all their sunglasses by hand using premium plant based biodegradable acetate and it shows in the quality, each pair has a weighty but comfortable feel that feels well constructed.
Every black frame in the Monokel Eyewear line is made from recycled acetate bits that are collected from their own production.When making handcrafted acetate frames, more than half of the acetate is normally thrown away. Monokel now collect and save all cut away pieces and mix it with a little bit of black ink to make new frames.
The Barstow Sunglasses utilise 100% UV protective Carl Zeiss Vision lenses, stainless steel hinges and Teflon covered hinge screws which provide durability and last longer than conventional designs. The Barstow has a unisex fit and comes with a protective case, cleaning cloth and storage box.
